Lora and Phoenix were just three years old when the pandemic took hold of the world in March 2020. They had known each other since they were babies and were already very good friends.
But when their parents decided to come together to form a social bubble in that same summer, they became closer than ever. Every week for a year, long hours were spent in parks, playgrounds and meadows, and the two children's friendship grew.
They loved and cared for each other deeply. They also fought and competed with each other frequently. In many ways, they became as much brother and sister as friends.
Most importantly, they became each other's rock and playmate during a year when so much else that they used to do, and people they used to see, suddenly was unavailable.
These photographs, taken over the course of a year, is a celebration of Lora and Phoenix's friendship and the bond that developed between the two of them.
